I've tried a number of different things install dh-python python-central dtc
This to a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04.1
It did work well for a while years ago but failed on an upgrade attempt
Now attempt to run produces radio tray icon in Unity taskbar for a few seconds

ALERT!!!
Just realized that a greyed out radio tray icon appeared in the top task bar.
And when I tried it runs!!!!!!
I'm almost afraid to stop it now.
If you ask I can report the output of a terminal start again.
Also on further inspection what appeared to be a Ubuntu program "SPLAT" icon was in fact the radiotray icon.
"Radiotray" It's worth the trouble!
Apologies for taking up your time
Hope it starts again next time
