I have seen this bug as well in Ubuntu. I am at a loss to understand the
bug, however - particularly, why it should trigger on some architectures and
not others.

Astonishingly, when trying to debug this, I found that locally the bug was
unreproducible whenever I ran my build under /tmp. When I moved the build
to /build, the bug was reproducible.

This looked like it might be a regression in cmake 3.5.2-2. All of the
failed builds on https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=gr-air-modes
happened with 3.5.2-2. Most of the successful builds happened with 3.5.2-1.
However, armel and i386 succeeded even though they were using 3.5.2-2. So
that's very confusing.

And if I downgrade cmake here, I still get a build failure.

So, perhaps a regression in some other build-dependency; but it's not
obvious to me which one. (There has not been an update of swig.)
