However, on many (most?) autobuild setups, the build will never complete. The reason for this is that the build launches an 'epmd' process in the background, which it never cleans up, and this process keeps its stdout open. So any autobuild harness that waits for the end of data will wait indefinitely. A good fix for this would be to launch epmd from a script that keeps track of its pid and kills it at the end of the test.
