Hi, I like Chirayu's patch and I think creating a standalone package for framework-res.apk is appropriate because not only apktool but other packages need it as well. I would also prefer ~/.local/share/apktool because the framework resources are needed permanently and not just temporarily. We could provide an additional script to extract the framework resources from Android resources, if that helps. This could be either installed to /usr/share/doc/apktool/examples via an *.examples file or it could even be a new executable in /usr/bin. I don't mind diverging from upstream in this case. @Chirayu I suggest you commit your changes directly to Debian's apktool Git repository. There is no need for a separate code collaboration tool like Gerrit for example. Every commit can be reverted. If you are unsure or your changes are really intrusive, feel free to create a separate branch and we merge everything into master later. I also suggest to address bug reports by just sending all e-mails to the relevant bug e-mail address and keep the bug submitter in CC if necessary. Switching between IRC and e-mail is at times confusing. Every team member who is subscribed to android-tools-devel will be informed. Regards, Markus
