-- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-amd64-k8 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages tar depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an tar recommends no packages. When starting tar with option -vj or -vz, tar starts normally. After some seconds it changes the setting of all console letters to unreadable signs. This happens only on 64-bit-machies. The same version on 32-bit works fine. Please feel free to ask me for more information.
