Package: ruby2.3
Version: 2.3.1-1
Severity: serious

Dear maintainer:

I can't build this package in stretch.

Every time I try this is what happens:

----------------------------------------------------------------
[...]
   bootstraptest.tmp.rb:4:in `initialize': can't create Thread: Resource
temporarily unavailable
[...]
----------------------------------------------------------------

Seems as if it wanted an insane amount of memory.

This is strange because of the following reasons:

* It didn't happen in version 2.3.0-5

* My build machine is a QEMU/KVM virtual machine with 6GB of RAM
and 4GB of swap. I'm using sbuild on a stretch chroot.

* By looking at /proc/meminfo, the amount of memory ruby2.3 needs to
build is only about 140 MB on average and 430 MB maximum.

The full build log is attached. I normally use eatmydata but I've
disabled it for this build (and the error still reproduces).

Thanks.
