Actually I don't think it ever worked, but if it really was working on 4.3.0-
1-grsec-amd64 I'm interested.

Yes, external/DKMS plugins are not yet supported, feel free to help if you
want this to happen. I think we'd need to provide our own linux-kbuild in
order to ship some files (like Makefile.gcc-plugins).
