Hello Steve,
we have two options:

No problems. Simply update the build-depends as mentioned in the title
of the bug (notice that there is an epoch in libglade2) and rebuild in
sid.

I now rebuild goobox in current testing on my ibook and updated the
diff. You can find the patch attached. It closes several bugs and also
is linda/lintian clean (which is not the case for the above). I
already mailed upstream of all changes (especially the broken tarball,
as you can see, I disable parts of the distclean target to get a tree
after build as similar as before).

The changelog reads:
goobox (0.9.93-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * QA upload
  * Use corrected dependency (Closes: #319713)
  * Genre is no longer repeated depending on track number (Closes: #319719)
  * German translation credit is now ok (Closes: #310202)
  * The upstream PO-File has changed. I re-read the german translation and
applied some corrections, as the old patch from Jens Seidel does not
apply anymore. Indirect, this Closes: #314066
  * Right now, genre can be specified for the entire disk only, hence
    #319717 is addressed only partially
  * No longer ship upstream README as it does not contain any new info
  * Update to standards version 3.6.2 (no changes required)

If we did this as NMU, then of course the version would be 0.9.93-0.1.

Upstreams source location is:
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/goobox/

What would be your favorite course of action? I will be offline for
about a week, afterwards (unless you see any objections) I can ask QA
if they agree to orphan Dans packages. If you want, you can upload the
attached patch before, though (or schedule the NMU for the current
version).

Things which are not yet perfect in my patch:
*) The attempt to recreate the original tree after build is kind of
   crude
*) The patch for the german translation (and the other upstream files
probably as well) should be handled by dpatch or similar (I did not
do this, as I am new to cdbs and would dive into the docs only if
   I would continue maintenance)
*) The language of the description is not (yet) perfect (including a
   warning by linda)
*) I *think* the last line in the clean target of debian/rules is
unnecessary now (but I did not test)

Anyways, I don't think any of these are showstoppers.

To summarize: I'd like (a fixed) goobox in Etch.

Greetings

            Helge
