severity 806352 grave thanks I've already done numerous upgrades on jessie to 2015.12.
python-django-auth-openid is not compatible with django1.9 (#806352) which is now in unstable and testing. From the log: Setting up python-django (1.9-1) ... .... Setting up python-django-auth-openid (0.5-2.3) ... This combination can never work and unless 806352 receives some help, python-django-auth-openid is not going to work with django >> 1.8. (It has had to have 3 NMUs and 4 separate compatibility patches applied just to get to 1.8, with no upstream contributions for two years.) lava-server dropped the dependency in 2015.12 in order to support django1.9 but as python-django-auth-openid was installed in jessie, it must be removed before any operation can be successful using django1.9. Looks like lava-server in unstable will need a Conflicts: on python-django-auth-openid If there is any chance of django1.9 being backported to jessie, the conflict will have to be added in jessie-backports too but that doesn't help other packages using python-django-auth-openid in jessie.
