It seem that you are missing the /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pygtk.py symlink, that should point to /etc/alternatives/py2.3gtk.py (itself pointing to /u/l/p2.3/s-p/pygtk.py.python2.3-gtk2). I'm reassigning this bug to the pygtk package for investigation, as it probably isn't specific to gdesklets. Are you sure you didn't manually change anything wrt pygtk ?
