There is no need to write a preinstall script. Please review NEWS.Debian https://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/debian-med/trunk/packages/dcmtk/trunk/debian/NEWS.Debian?view=markup and commit changes you might consider helpful right to SVN. BTW, anybody else at some point in time has written the first preinstall script ... > > Do you think it is better to switch back to the former version of dcmtk? > > Given that this is an experimental package and that the > SONAME/SOVERSION scheme is not clear at that point (per upstream), I > would not have uploaded this version at this point in time, but that > is an entirely different issue IMHO. Sorry to disapoint you, but I am not stalking you :) I somehow assumed that I would have told you when we met at a MiniDebConf. Just for the record: I have zero education in medical imaging, have never dealt with any DICOM file. I do not have any good reason to deal with medical imaging packages except that I feel responsible for the whole Debian Med scope and try to fix urgent issues with my Debian packaging competence. I think I have made clear in the past that your quitting from the team has created a gap regarding competence in medical imaging and I'm seriously concerned that we do not manage the workload properly if you fully stop your commitment here. Kind regards Andreas. -- http://fam-tille.de
