That sounds appropriate to me - I can see no evidence of any progress on this in the last year. The upstream ticket has just been repeated repegged onto later and later milestones. The last wx 2.8 release (2.8.12) was 4.5 years ago (to the day!) while wx 3.0 is approaching 2 years old. It doesn't seem an unrealistic expectation to expect upstreams to support it by now. Upstream don't even seem to have looked at my patch to improve wx3 compatibility while maintaining support for wx2.8, which would at least be a first step towards getting this to work, and give some indication that they actually care.
