Package: s3ql-dbg Version: 2.14+dfsg-1 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'jessie'. It installed fine in 'jessie', then the upgrade to 'stretch' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../s3ql-dbg_2.14+dfsg-1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking s3ql-dbg (2.14+dfsg-1) over (2.11.1+dfsg-2) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/s3ql-dbg_2.14+dfsg-1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/s3ql/s3ql/deltadump.cpython-34dm-x86_64-linux-gnu.so', which is also in package s3ql 2.11.1+dfsg-2 dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Preparing to unpack .../s3ql_2.14+dfsg-1_amd64.deb ... Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/s3ql-dbg_2.14+dfsg-1_amd64.deb A file in /usr/lib/s3ql does not belong into a -dbg package at all! cheers, Andreas
