The uploads of haskell-gtk[3] 0.13.8.1-1 and gtk2hs-buildtools 0.13.0.4-1 seem to have done the trick. I used "gcc version 5.1.1 20150622 (Debian 5.1.1-12)" to reproduce the bug again, but the builds went fine now (discounting the heat! ;-)). Any objections to closing the bugs #777897 and #777898?
