Hi Thanks for the follow-up; I almost forgot about this bug report.
I was working on my drawings (same ones) a few days ago and I did not see this problem. I verified again just now that I am now seeing any problems. The bug seems to have been (silently) fixed. I have to say that I was shocked to see those comments. If they have to modify a drawing (perhaps just to update one word) and finds that inkscape corrupts the drawing every time you make even minor (even unrelated) changes, it certainly could not be just "normal" severity. (Because of the way inkscape works, some text must be edited using Text and Font unless the user does not mind restarting inkscape over and over again with different env. variables.)
