The data of the active tab is saved, changes of other tabs are lost. Kile doesn't react to any input and has to be killed (killall kile). workaround: deactivate the autosave option and save manually (or by frequently compiling your document). Since this behaviour can become quite annoying and since one is required to restart kile and reenter all text since last save/autosave it might be very desirable to get a fix via security updates. This bug was reproduced on several current and up-to-date Debian Sarge installations. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages kile depends on: ii kdelibs4 4:3.3.2-6.1 KDE core libraries ii konsole 4:3.3.2-1 KDE X terminal emulator ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-6 client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-13 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn11 0.5.13-1.0 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg62 6b-10 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpcre3 4.5-1.2 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-1 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.3.4-3 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-13 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7 X Rendering Extension client libra ii tetex-bin 2.0.2-30 The teTeX binary files ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4.sarge.2 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 325588-done) by bugs.debian.org; 10 Jan 2006 18:50:11 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 10 10:50:11 2006 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from dsl093-039-086.pdx1.dsl.speakeasy.net ([66.93.39.86] helo=tennyson.dodds.net) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 4.50) id 1EwOZP-00085o-7S for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Tue, 10 Jan 2006 10:50:11 -0800 Received: by tennyson.dodds.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 2F6857005; Tue, 10 Jan 2006 10:50:10 -0800 (PST) Date: Tue, 10 Jan 2006 10:50:10 -0800 From: Steve Langasek <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: kile crashes on auto-save, incurring data loss Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="J4XPiPrVK1ev6Sgr" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.9i X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 --J4XPiPrVK1ev6Sgr Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Version: 1:1.8.1 By all accounts, this bug is fixed in the version of the package currently in etch; documenting it as such.
