I agree that it would be nice -- but it's impossible. :/ Anyway, this
configuration modification is only done on the administrator's request
(lm-syslog-setup), so he must have agreed to the modification. The
problem here is that the original config is not restored on uninstall,
as would be expected.

If the same problem exists in sarge as I suspect, managing a
proposed-update and patching to save poor users of stable would be
nice, too.
I'm not so sure about that. The problem only occurs on a very rare
combination where people have run lm-syslog-setup and then PURGE
laptop-mode-tools. This is the first time I've ever heard about the
problem, so I don't think it's common enough to warrant an update in
sarge. Is there a Debian policy for what warrants an update on stable?
