Package: liblua5.1-0-dev Version: 5.1.5-7.1 Severity: serious Tags: newcomer Justification: Policy 8.4
Dear Maintainer, When trying to compile using the "-llua" option, the compiler does not found liblua.so on its path. According to the Debian Policy Manual, section 8.4, "The development package should contain a symlink for the associated shared library without a version number." I kindly request you to implement this recommendation. Also, I think it is Debian Policy to name the libraries like: liblualiblua.so.5.1.0 instead of liblualiblua5.1.so.0.0.0 Truly yours, Miguel Rubio-Roy -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages liblua5.1-0-dev depends on: ii libc6-dev [libc-dev] 2.19-15 ii liblua5.1-0 5.1.5-7.1 ii libreadline-dev 6.3-8+b3 Versions of packages liblua5.1-0-dev recommends: ii libtool 2.4.2-1.11 ii libtool-bin 2.4.2-1.11 ii pkg-config 0.28-1 liblua5.1-0-dev suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
