This is likely to be a bug in APT (or possibly in its interaction with dpkg), so I have CC'ed the relevant maintainers. @Yaroslav: Can you please provide your dpkg and apt logs to aid with the debugging? Last time we saw this issue, we were unable to reproduce it due to lack of information.
