Just poking in to say that this is not fixed... I'm still being spit the "efibootmgr: Input/output error" error when running efibootmgr and I have the following versions...
efibootmgr 0.9.0-2 efivar 0.15-2 libefivar0 0.15-2 Still can't do anything with efibootmgr. Luckily my system supports legacy booting if I didn't want to boot all the time with refind
