Another thing is the package still pretends to support apache / apache-perl / apache-ssl in addition to apache2. These haven't existed since many releases, and even if they worked before your patch (I'm not at all sure they do) they certainly won't provide /usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper, so that whole thing could do with some cleanup. Probably something for another time, though.
