I noticed. The work-around on armhf (adding -ffunction-sections to the Fortran compiler flags) did not work on arm64. I've since tried to add -fdata-sections and passing -Wl,--gc-sections to the linker, to no avail. So if the arm64 porters have further suggestions to try (or even patches), I am all ears.
