I need to take this back: Masking of avahi-daemon.service in prerm was something I did in a local package which I haven't uploaded (yet). Sorry for the confusion. As was pointed out on IRC, this also doesn't quite explain, why "systemctl stop avahi-daemon.service" fails in the first place, unless there is "some other component" triggering the start of avahi-daemon.service at exactly the time when it's stopped. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
