Nope! The source of that package is pre XeLaTeX and no longer maintained so it moves people to texlive-lang-indic. Below is what aptitude show. Package: latex-sanskrit New: yes State: not installed Version: 2014.20140821-1 Priority: optional Section: tex Maintainer: Debian TeX Maintainers <debian-tex-ma...@lists.debian.org> Architecture: all Uncompressed Size: 52.2 k Depends: dpkg (>= 1.14.18), tex-common (>= 3), texlive-lang-indic (>= 2014.20140504) Description: TeX Live: transitional dummy package This is a transitional package for latex-sanskrit to ensure proper upgrade to texlive-lang-indic. It can be safely removed after the Homepage: http://www.tug.org/texlive/ Tags: culture::hebrew, made-of::font, role::app-data, use::typesetting, works-with-format::tex, works-with::text So I assume closing is the right thing to do!.
