It's very well possible that this is a policykit issue - although I'm not 100% sure yet; it happens *before* anything user related after all. This is the bare gdm3 itself which doesn't work (it doesn't show any login/password fields). I would instinctively start looking at systemd-logind, but I wouldn't have the faintest clue on how those two play together. Is there a way to get a list of all policykit groups that exist on a system, and what they do? Thanks, Lennert
