No, the wheezy package will not be updated to a new major upstream release. That's against the stable release policies. Andreas specifically closed it for version 3.12.0-1. If you want to see a fix for wheezy, someone would need to make a backport of the fix and ask the stable release managers if such an update would be accepted. Given the workload of this Debian GNOME team it is unlikely that someone from the team will do it. If a tested patch would be provided and we'd have the ack from the release team, the situation would be different.
