The source package is from experimental, all the build
dependencies from unstable.

I have the same versions, with one difference, I have
automake1.7, you have automake1.9.

Your Build dependency says:
automake1.7|automake1.8|automake1.9, so it picks
automake1.7 in case nothing is installed yet.
  
It seems that automake1.7 somehow seems to break it.
