Another quick note: the cause is due to use of a deprecated Guile interface. By not using scm_makstr() the problem goes away. That problem is bypassed in 5.8, but the libtool used is broken. The libtool released last night fixes that issue, but I haven't rolled a new release yet. 5.8.1 will be the one you want (in a day or two). It will be just 5.8 with a new libtool.
