If I read build logs and gcc-defaults changelog properly, gcc was already 4.9 for the previous successful build on mips*. Maybe that has to do with the libc update (2.18 to 2.19 lately)? I can't really look right now and I'm not really into toolchain anyway, sorry about that. Mraw, KiBi.
