what is the result of clang -v ?
$ clang -v && echo EOF
Debian clang version 3.4.2-4 (tags/RELEASE_34/dot2-final) (based on LLVM 3.4.2)

Selected GCC installation:

Perhaps it's because gcc-4.9 uses i586-linux-gnu as triplet (unlike
previous versions, which use i486-linux-gnu)?
