Do you extract the downloaded archive in such way that any leading / in the pathnames is ignored? And apart from that... as mentioned before... the safest method is probably the one where you don't use GPG but always update the package when a new version of flash comes out. That also fits best with most assumtions one has from a package (changelog, being notified in APT/etc. about updates, and so on) Cheers, Chris.
