Hi, it seems as if the root of this issue is that BerkeleyDB::Env no more supports the flag DB_CDB_ALLDB, it returns "Invalid argument".
I haven't found anything about this in BerkeleyDB.pm's change log, so I suspect it may be related to BDB changes. The patch at http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-perl/packages/libparanoid-perl.git;a=blob_plain;f=debian/patches/dont-use-DB_CDB_ALLDB.patch drops passing that flag to BerkeleyDB::Env and fixes the test suite failures for me. A Debian package containing that patch has just been uploaded to Debian Unstable.
