Neil, I just ran into the issue of irqbalance being broken in Debian 7
'wheezy'. I don't know why the Debian maintainer upgraded to this
incompatible version, but downgrading would be pretty hard now.

At <https://github.com/Irqbalance/irqbalance/issues/6> you referred to
the commit that added msi_irqs in sysfs, which looks like it should be
easy to cherry-pick (as we are on 3.2 and it went into 3.3), but also
you mentioned subsequent bug fixes. Was there anything other than this
one:

commit 424eb391596a38ddf422bee1617e4b9dea60126f
Author: Neil Horman <nhor...@tuxdriver.com>
Date: Tue Jan 3 10:29:54 2012 -0500

PCI: msi: fix imbalanced refcount of msi irq sysfs objects

?

The other interesting change I see is this one:

commit 1c51b50c2995f543d145d3bce78029ac9f8ca6b3
Author: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gre...@linuxfoundation.org>
Date: Thu Dec 19 12:30:17 2013 -0800

PCI/MSI: Export MSI mode using attributes, not kobjects

Does the current irqbalance work with both versions of the sysfs
interface?

Ben.
