Thanks for the report. The real error is in config.log:

`__compiler_membar'

so I guess libpcap is completely broken on kfreebsd. This symbol
actually matches a dpkg-shlibdeps warning that appeared with the last
build, but as I didn't change anything to the kfreebsd code I didn't
investigate.

This must be a toolchain issue, I'll ask on the kfreebsd mailing list.
