Yes, I added it to the title after finding out :). Michael Setzer wrote, that adding MODULE ide-generic MODULE ide-disk to /etc/yaird/Default.cfg makes it work. I could boot with that, but DMA was disabled. I found out that manually adding piix reenables DMA for me, so I meant "yes it works, no need to install initramfs-tools, but piix is not loaded and that disables my DMA". > Sorry it wasn't clear to you and you had to play detective yourself to > get to same conclusion. No need to excuse (but appreciated of course). Any idea though why piix is not loaded? The patch from Erik seems to care for ide-generic only (and assumes that piix is loaded I guess).
