Thanks for reporting this bug, which unfortunately still exists. The last snapshot which still contains 2.4.23-7.3 and can be used to upgrade from lenny to squeeze is: http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20130223T095106Z/ Starting from 20130223T120419Z, 2.4.23-7.3 is in squeeze. Upgrading to that snapshot, and then to current squeeze, does work. CCing the release team for an opinion: at this late time, would it be reasonable to prepare an update for squeeze to try to fix the regression?
