they've just removed that file from the package and that's certainly step 1 of fixing this problem (assuming that other negotiations to relicense the file come to nothing). Step 2 is to provide replacement functionality and step 3 is to actually test that it works. My memory from discussing this with gnewsense people is that they have only done step 1 here.
