Package: network-manager Version: 0.9.8.8-4 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer, the current unstable version of NM does not work: The NM frontend does not show any connections (even though NM prints to syslog that they were loaded from /etc/NetworkManager). It's also not possible to add a new connection, so I had do downgrade to an elder version to get any connecitivty. The issue is also appearant with nmcli: Usually, "nmcli c" lists the wireless networks I stored, but with the current version it says $ nmcli c ** (process:3523): WARNING **: Could not create object for /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Settings/2: No session found for uid 1000 (unknown) ** (process:3523): WARNING **: handle_property_changed: failed to update property 'available-connections' of object type NMDeviceWifi. NAME UUID TYPE TIMESTAMP-REAL And nothing more. Note that I do not have systemd installed, as I am still using sysvinit. I am very willing to migrate to systemd, but last time I tried there still were some issues severe enough that I went back to sysvinit. In any case, as NM just Recommends: systemd, it should still be functional without using systemd.
