Package: x11vnc Version: 0.9.13-1.1+b1 Followup-For: Bug #735648 Dear Maintainer,
I've got same issue as Gianluca (many thanks to you Gianluca !) According to his bug report, Ubuntu's patch is working fine ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/x11vnc/+bug/1175098 ) I've use this procedure http://raphaelhertzog.fr/2011/07/12/comment-recompiler-un-paquet-debian/ in order to: - download sources - patch x11vnc-0.9.13/debian/rules (Ubuntu patch) - rebuild x11vnc-0.9.13 - install new patched .deb Patched .deb has fix issue. Either disable 'compiz' (recommended) or 17/02/2014 22:32:52 supply the x11vnc '-noxdamage' command line option. 17/02/2014 22:32:52 17/02/2014 22:32:52 Wireframing: -wireframe mode is in effect for window moves. 17/02/2014 22:32:52 If this yields undesired behavior (poor response, painting 17/02/2014 22:32:52 errors, etc) it may be disabled: 17/02/2014 22:32:52 - use '-nowf' to disable client-side pixel caching feature yet? The scheme stores pixel data offscreen on the VNC viewer side for faster retrieval. It should work with any VNC viewer. Try it by running: x11vnc -ncache 10 ... One can also add -ncache_cr for smooth 'copyrect' window motion. 22:32:59 To disable this behavior use: '-noxdamage' 17/02/2014 22:32:59 17/02/2014 22:32:59 Most compositing window managers like 'compiz' or 'beryl' 17/02/2014 22:32:59 cause X DAMAGE to fail, and so you may not see any screen 17/02/2014 22:32:59 updates via VNC. Either disable 'compiz' (recommended) or 17/02/2014 22:32:59 supply the x11vnc '-noxdamage' command line option. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 17/02/2014 22:32:59 Wireframing: -wireframe mode is in effect for window moves. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 If this yields undesired behavior (poor response, painting 17/02/2014 22:32:59 errors, etc) it may be disabled: 17/02/2014 22:32:59 - use '-nowf' to disable wireframing completely. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 - use '-nowcr' to disable the Copy Rectangle after the 17/02/2014 22:32:59 moved window is released in the new position. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 Also see the -help entry for tuning parameters. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 You can press 3 Alt_L's (Left "Alt" key) in a row to 17/02/2014 22:32:59 repaint the screen, also see the -fixscreen option for 17/02/2014 22:32:59 periodic repaints. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 17/02/2014 22:32:59 XFIXES available on display, resetting cursor mode 17/02/2014 22:32:59 to: '-cursor most'. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 to disable this behavior use: '-cursor arrow' 17/02/2014 22:32:59 or '-noxfixes'. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 using XFIXES for cursor drawing. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 GrabServer control via XTEST. 17/02/2014 22:32:59 17/02/2014 22:32:59 Scroll Detection: -scrollcopyrect mode is in effect to 17/02/2014 22:32:59 use RECORD extension to try to detect scrolling windows 17/02/2014 22:32:59 (induced by either user keystroke or client-side pixel caching feature yet? The scheme stores pixel data offscreen on the VNC viewer side for faster retrieval. It should work with any VNC viewer. Try it by running: x11vnc -ncache 10 ... One can also add -ncache_cr for smooth 'copyrect' window motion. More info: http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/faq.html#faq-client-caching
