Package: halevt
Version: 0.1.6.2-2
Severity: serious
User: pkg-utopia-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: halectomy

Hi,

HAL has been deprecated and declared dead upstream so we want to
get rid of it in Debian [1].

Due to the changes in udev-183, hal is no longer really functional on
Linux since it doesn't receive any uevents any longer [2].

Since halevt directly relies on hal, the best option I see is to remove
this package from the archive.

Regards,
Michael
