This bug has been fixed in the upcoming package update. It should be uploaded in the coming days. Sadly it has been a matter of days. But it wouldn't have avoided this removal, since it will bring a new bug regarding FHS support, which in Debian is a RC class one. I'll report it on the upstream bugtracker.
