Source: libgringotts
Version: 1:1.2.1-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

About a year ago, libgringotts acquired an epoch in its version so that a lower version number could be used.

Unfortunately this approach _does not_ permit version numbers to be re-used when the only difference is the epoch. Filenames for items such as .changes and .deb files do not contain the epoch, leading to rejects from the archive management software on architectures where libgringotts 1.2.1-2 was previously built; see the architectures stuck in "uploaded" on https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libgringotts

The solution to this is to ensure that version numbers are unique other than via epochs.

Regards,

Adam
