Hi, Some time ago I filed a bug report (#546610) about ignored root= command line parameter. This was already fixed by maintainer in 2012 (cryptsetup/2:1.4.1-3) and I have been overriding root device in a regular basis since then, so when I found this bug report by chance I was curious and looked at it. > I'ts not pristine from the installer. Did you follow http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/qnap/ts-41x/install/ for installation? Which were your settings about disk layout? In particular I am curious about /dev/ram being tried as root filesystem. Also, you write above "I'ts not pristine from the installer", can you be more explicit about this. Is something modified from Debian installer? I am not familiar with this kind or ARM devices, but even only for not having a console I'd say they are way too specific and have my doubts about considering them fully supported, and thus this bug being RC. May be is just my lack of knowledge about these devices. Anyway, did you try the "Debian area on the QNAP forum" pointed to in http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/qnap/ts-41x/. People having physical access to one of this devices can be of great help here.
