hi, it seems that it hangs when opening MIDI-device. so the first question is, whether you have a MIDI-soundcard or not. If so, you're possibly running another app accessing MIDI-card via ALSA-sequencer-interface. Try to close everything. The next release will also support accessing MIDI-device via ALSA-sequencer, so then it should work. As a workaround, you could try to insert the following line into ~/.lmmsrc.xml
<mixer framesperaudiobuffer="512" mididev="ALSA Raw-MIDI (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture)" audiodev="ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture)" /> I don't know whether this works, but maybe it does... toby
