Hi, libnewt0.52 is marked Multi-Arch: same, but it does not handle the alternative properly, see the following sequence apt-get install libnewt0.52:amd64 # registers the alternative apt-get install libnewt0.52:i386 # registers the alternative again, which is a no-op apt-get remove libnewt0.52:i386 # removes the alternative even though libnewt0.52:amd64 is still # installed >From the attached log (scroll to the end): 0m37.0s ERROR: FAIL: After purging files have disappeared: /etc/alternatives/newt-palette -> /etc/newt/palette.original not owned /etc/newt/palette -> /etc/alternatives/newt-palette not owned Cheers, Andreas
