Can you check the advise given by Mike? (Probably best to first back this
directory up, as this could help others debugging the problem).

On my, working, machine the directory exists and contains two files:
-rw------- 1 helge helge 605867 Jul 20 21:57 registry.x86_64.bin
-rw------- 1 helge helge 349966 Mai 15 2007 registry.x86_64.xml

If it does not help, it would be great if you could answer my
questions so we can continue to debug this.

As stated, goobox starts fine on my machine (though the icons look a
little strange, which I need to investigate, but this is a different
and IMHO not serious bug).

If I don't hear anything from you I'll probably downgrade this bug (it
is already unreproducible for me) to let goobox migrate.

If this is indeed the problem, I wonder how to work around it. I'm not
allowed to mess in $HOME. Probably then this bug has to be dealt with
within gstreamer itself?

But first I'd be glad to get your answer.

Greetings

          Helge
