Hi Osamu, As I reported, IBus 1.5.2 + ibus-pinyin 1.5.0 + Gnome 3.8 is basically working though it cannot be controlled by Gnome. That is, I have to type command "ibus engine pinyin" to enable it.
Per Takao Fujiware's suggestion, I checked the packaging options of current Gnome 3.8. I found there is "disable_ibus". I believe this can explain why Gnome cannot really control ibus.
