Actually, whatever software that is stripped too much information; your conclusion is incorrect. The important piece of the log, as per Daniel's mail, is: Can't locate File/Path.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.14.2 /usr/local/share/perl/5.14.2 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.14 /usr/share/perl/5.14 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/sbin/update-rc.d line 8. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/sbin/update-rc.d line 8. That's a bug in sysv-rc - specifically, it's #716923, which is now (just) fixed in unstable.
