reopen 712861 thanks gnome-shell 3.4.2-9 hasn't shown up in the archive yet AFAICT, so I manually applied Emilio's proposed patch to bluetooth.js. This did not help; I get exactly the same startup crash except that the error message now says "GnomeBluetoothApplet.BluetoothKillswitchState is undefined" instead of "GnomeBluetoothApplet.KillswitchState is undefined". I had to comment out the "if (Config.HAVE_BLUETOOTH)" stanza in js/ui/panel.js to get things working again.
