Sadly it's not that simple. Disabling libgnomeprintui support in wx2.8 results in it using some internal printing code, which works much less well than its libgnomeprintui support does. I checked the two wx-using packages which I maintained myself, and both were negatively affected by its removal. For sffview, it breaks printing totally (#645159). Given sffview is a viewer for a fax format, being able to print seems pretty useful. In wx2.9, GtkPrint is used instead, but wx2.9 isn't API or ABI stable yet, so it's a bit soon to try to migrate debian to it. I'm not sure what the best solution is. I did offer to take over maintenance for the 3 recently removed libraries from the gnome team, but they seem to have seen fit to simply rip them out instead.
